| The Programme The aim of this programme, which is accredited by the Institution of Environmental Sciences, is to provide advanced training in contemporary coastal zone management. It is taught by staff who are internationally recognised experts in the field and who are actively involved in a range of cutting-edge research projects on coastal science and management. The programme provides an understanding of the relevant science and human activities that affect the coast. It draws on case studies from around the world to provide examples of coastal management issues and responses at all levels (local to international) and in both coastal land areas and coastal waters. Modules • Assessment and minimisation of environmental impacts • Environmental data analysis • Management of coastal land resources • Management of coastal water resources
Plus (Masters only): • Research project Duration and Mode of AttendancePgDip: Two years. MSc: Further to the PgDip, an additional 2 semesters (three years in total). The programme is delivered entirely online. Career opportunities will be in coastal conservation, beach management, environmental management, environmental consultancy, and environmental regulation and policy making.
