Across our planet, multiple examples of inspiring “blue solutions” which successfully help overcome challenges to sustainable development and human wellbeing in the marine and coastal realm can be found. The four-day Regional Forum provides a platform for African practitioners and decision-makers involved in marine and coastal planning, management and governance for sustainable development to: - Enable mutual learning and support knowledge transfer on experiences.
- Inspire participants and facilitate the adaptation of successful experiences towards the implementation of sustainable solutions in marine and coastal contexts.
The first day of the forum will start with a high-level event and networking sessions to get to know your fellow participants. On the second day, we will learn from solution providers from all over Africa about their experiences and successes in various aspects of planning and management for sustainable use and conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems. The third day is dedicated to exploring strategies and practicalities in applying different solutions presented and discuss their relevance in addressing specific marine and coastal environmental challenges in Africa, as well contributing to the achievement of international targets. On the last day, there will be different options for field trips around Zanzibar to experience solutions in action. |
