Datum: 11. - 13. Oktober 2017
Webseite: http://www.kimointernational.org/news/agm-2017-second-announcement/
Ort: Malmö, SWEDEN
Beschreibung:

The City of Malmö and ICLEI together committed at the UN to host a conference on the implementation of SDG14 at local level: “Life Below Water – 11-13 October 2017 in Malmö, Sweden. This will kick start a global network for ocean literacy, knowledge exchange and up-scaling of local initiatives for the marine environment. As part of this work, Malmö and ICLEI will take these initiatives to ICLEI’s membership of 1500 cities and regions across the globe. about 50% of which are in coastal areas.

The focus for this work will be on the marine environment, but with strong links to climate mitigation and adaptation, sustainable procurement, ecosystem services, community development and the circular economy. In this way, work with SDG 14 will be integrated closely with action for the other SDGs.

A more detailed declaration for the global local government network will be launched by the City of Malmö and ICLEI at the Life Below Water Conference in October 2017 and also presented at COP23 in Bonn, 3rd UN Environment Assembly and finalised with a phase 1 action plan at the ICLEI World Congress in Montreal in June 2018. This will be a comitment for the period 2017-2030.

Don’t miss Malmö – you will be able to take part in discussions and exchange experiences on ocean literacy and education, develop ideas on how we can utilise and benefit from our local marine resources, the challenges this involves and and how we can work together to overcome these.

Seminars will present the meaning and relevance of corporate social responsibility for sustainable and value-centred maritime operations and how cities and regions can act to secure future societal functions to avoid risks to populations.
