Advances in Integrated Ocean Research towards Sustainable Development

We invite - research alumni of Marine Sciences in Kiel and
- early career (doctoral and postdoctoral) researchers in integrated Marine Sciences
to submit an application to participate and exchange views with members of the Future Ocean Cluster on the social, economic and environmental consequences of anthropogenic impacts on the ocean and on chances and challenges for sustainable development in regard to the ocean.
The conference will focus on three grand challenge areas, Ocean Pressures, Ocean Resilience and Ocean Prosperity, and the integrative themes Digital Ocean and Ocean Education & Lifelong Learning.
The number of participants is limited and applications are required. Some travel funding is available for successful applicants. All information about the conference, the themes and the application process can be found on the conference website:

Deadline for submission of applications for participation and travel funding is May 15, 2017. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by early June.
This conference is supported in part by grants from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the framework of the Alumni Program and from the Herz Foundation "Begegnungszonen" Program to support early career researchers.
