The Colloquium on Baltic Sea Marine Geology is a biennial meeting that was started in 1987 in Finland. In 1993 the conference took place in the city of Sopot and after 23 years is coming back to Poland. The Colloquium is an opportunity to present the latest results and exchange ideas and research experiences on the geology of the Baltic Sea. Main topics: 1. Baltic Sea Paleoenvironments - the session should include all research related to the development and paleoclimate of the Baltic Sea
2. Coastal Processes – the session dedicated to geodynamics, geohazard, modern sea level changes and human impact on the coast
3. Environmental Issues and Practical Applications - the session takes into account natural resources, geotechnics, geochemistry, geohabitat mapping as well as geotourism, geoheritage and geo-sites 4. Tectonical Framework and pre-Quaternary Geology of the Baltic Sea - the session discusses the subsurface geological structure, together with studies on hydrocarbon deposits.
