Michaelsdorf, Darss-Zingst Bodden Chain

Phragmites wetland. At the moment the pumping station at Michaelsdorf
is no longer in operation. The umping station was installed back in 1970 and the material corrodes. At Michaelsdorf heavy metal concentrations in sediments were low with two exceptions: zinc and copper in the surface sediments of the nterior zone. One possible explanation could be leaching from the rusted construction material of the pumping station (see: Karstens, S., Buczko, U., Jurasinski, G., Peticzka, R., Glatzel, S. 2016. Impact of adjecent land use on coastal wetlands sediments. Science of the total environment 550, 337-348.)
