Since 1999, the counties of Storstrøm and West Zealand, the Land Schleswig-Holstein and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, together with the Swedish-Danish partners of the Øresund region have co-operated within the STRING project (STRING = Southwestern Baltic Sea TransRregional Area – Inventing New Geograghy). The aim of this long-lasting co-operation is to develop the potential of the partner region and, in the light of the global and rapidly changing economy, work out joint strategies. Therefore, the partners have entered a co-operation agreement with a view to the vision including an integrated, permanently competitive region with a quality of life based on the three pillars: innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability. |
